1. Information We Collect

When you use Translatable, we collect the following information:

  • Discord account information: Your Discord user ID, username, avatar, and email (via Discord OAuth2).
  • Server information: Guild IDs, channel IDs, and role IDs for servers where Translatable is configured.
  • Message content: Messages are processed in real-time for translation and are not permanently stored. Only metadata (character counts, message counts) is retained for quota tracking.
  • Configuration data: Your translation settings, glossary terms, gatekeeper rules, and channel mappings.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide real-time translation services between your Discord channels.
  • To authenticate you and manage your server configurations via the dashboard.
  • To enforce plan limits and usage quotas.
  • To improve translation quality through glossary and context features.

3. Data Sharing

We share data with the following third-party services solely to provide translation:

  • Google Cloud Translation API: Message text is sent for translation. Google's privacy policy applies.
  • DeepL API: If configured as a provider, message text is sent for translation.
  • LibreTranslate: Self-hosted instance; no data leaves your infrastructure.

We do not sell your data to any third parties.

4. Data Retention

  • Message content is processed in memory and not stored after translation.
  • Audit logs are retained for 90 days and then automatically deleted.
  • Account and configuration data is retained while your account is active.
  • You can request deletion of all your data by contacting us.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Remove the bot from your server at any time, which stops all data processing.
  • Revoke OAuth2 access via your Discord account settings.

6. Security

We protect your data using industry-standard practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), database encryption at rest, and access controls. Webhook tokens and API keys are stored securely in the database, never in source code.
